The luxury associated with Hermes

We have a treat for your eyes! Hermes has become ubiquitous with the ultimate designer handbags. The luxury associated with Hermes is known worldwide, continues throughout the years and seasons, and transcends across generations. My collection of Hermes bags is small, but includes all Holy Grail bags for me; a Blue Jean Birkin, a Kelly Wallet in Orange Alligator, and my stunning white Kelly Longue. Next on my wishlist from the brand is a travel size bag. Something big, something to take for weekend trips, something reminiscent of what the brand is known for but offering a new shape to my collection. Top of my list is the Haut A Courroies, better known to the masses as the HAC. And the ultimate HAC from Hermes would be the crocodile HAC that was at Christie’s. Continue Reading This trip in New York has been filled with the most stunning weather and the most Prada bags I have seen in a long time. I have been utterly shocked at seeing bag after bag of Prada. Is Prada the new bag of NYC? And these are not the nylon bags, they are the runway bags with large studs, prints, and non-recognizable to the masses. Today I saw a bag that again made me fall in love. While we were at a fashion show in a spacious and jaw-dropping loft overlooking the Hudson River there she was, the Prada Stripes Hobo in black. Of course it was in black, but I am not obsessing over the black, rather the purple hues. The violet medium hobo and dark lavender small hobo offer the perfect hue in a bag that I have already confessed my love of. Purple is associated with giving peace of mind, hence it is used often in offices and work spaces. Not only does it give peace of mind, but it looks amazing on blond hair blue eyed gals (can’t you see why I love it!). The supple Nappa leather on these Prada bags melts in your hands and the stripes add the perfect amount of dimension.

Folks, we’ve done it. I think. Maybe I’m being optimistic. But, with the advent of the Louis Vuitton Card Deck Set, I think it may be possible for someone with enough money and enough dedication to go through their entire day without deigning to use a product that’s not luxury branded. We’ve covered Chanel and Hermes bicycles, Gucci makes wallpaper, Fendi makes bedding, Versace makes furniture. And now, your husband won’t just be playing poker with the guys, he’ll be playing Louis Vuitton poker. And that won’t get him made fun of by his buddies AT ALL, I promise. Eluxury promises that this set includes three “luxurious” decks of cards, so please, help me brainstorm in the comments – exactly how does one make playing cards luxurious? The first thing that came to my mind was having the symbols ever so carefully covered in close-cropped mink, making them slightly furry. How would you do it? We’ve already talked about the weaker points of Prada’s Fall/Winter 2010 handbag collection – I’m no great fan of camouflage, and it seems like most of you agree with me. Thankfully most of the bags in the collection aren’t decked in camo, and I’d love to have most of them in my closet. In particular, the Prada Cervo Shine Bowler looks like a perfect everyday bag – it’s neutral but doesn’t lack luxury and can be carried on the shoulder or arm, depending on how badly you need to carry other things at the same time.
